We're glad you're here. This guide will walk you through everything you need to feel at home with Wellthplan: what Finn is, what the app can do, and how to get set up in just a few minutes.

What is Finn?
Finn is your AI financial assistant — and the heart of the Wellthplan app.
Think of Finn as a knowledgeable friend who's always there when you have a money question. Instead of guessing, Finn uses your real bank accounts (with your permission) to give you accurate, personalized answers.
You can talk to Finn right inside the app, or opt in to text Finn via SMS, iMessage, WhatsApp, or RCS. Ask things like:
- "How much did I spend on eating out last month?"
- "Am I on track with my savings goal?"
- "Show me a chart of my spending this year."
- "Set a $400 budget for groceries."
Finn answers in plain language, generates charts when they help, tracks your goals automatically, and can send you alerts when something important happens with your money.

Wellthplan is a native app with Finn at the center — an AI assistant that connects to your banks (read-only and secure), helps you understand your money, set goals, build budgets, and stay on top of what matters. No finance degree required.

Download & sign up
Getting started takes about five minutes.
- Download the Wellthplan app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
- Enter your phone number — we'll send you a one-time verification code.
- Verify the code and complete your profile.
- Meet Finn — Finn will walk you through a short onboarding conversation to learn about your financial goals and what matters to you.
- Select a plan — choose the subscription tier that fits your needs.
- Connect your bank accounts — link one or more accounts through Plaid so Finn can start helping.
Ready when you are
Most people are fully set up in under five minutes. Once your banks are connected, you can start exploring your finances and talking to Finn immediately.
The app at a glance
Once you're signed in, you'll find everything organized across five tabs:
Plan — Your Wellth Score and financial health overview. A snapshot of where you stand and how you're progressing.
Money — The main financial dashboard: account balances, cash flow, savings and debt goals, budgets by category, spending limits, and detected subscriptions.
Finn (center button) — Chat with Finn AI. Ask anything about your finances in plain language. Finn can pull up transactions, create goals, set budgets, generate charts, scan receipts, and more.
Activity — Your full transaction feed with search, filters, category breakdowns, charts, and the ability to attach receipts to individual transactions.
Accounts — Manage your connected bank accounts, add new ones through Plaid, or create manual accounts for tracking.
Connect your accounts
Finn is most helpful when it can see your real financial picture — with your permission, and only in read-only mode.
How to connect:
- Open the Accounts tab in the app.
- Tap "Add account" and find your bank in the Plaid-powered search.
- Sign in with your bank credentials in the secure, encrypted flow. Wellthplan never sees or stores your bank password.
- Pick the accounts you want to link (checking, savings, credit cards, investments).
- Confirm — Finn will start pulling in transactions and balances. Most of the time you'll see data within a few minutes.

Talk to Finn
Once your accounts are connected, tap the Finn button in the center of the app and start a conversation. Ask anything about your money in plain language — Finn handles the rest.
A few things to try first:
- "How much did I spend last week?"
- "Create a $200/month dining budget."
- "Show me my top spending categories this year."
- "Set a savings goal for $2,000 by December."
- "Notify me when my checking drops below $500."

Texting with Finn
Prefer texting? You can also chat with Finn outside the app.
Opt in to text messaging in your app settings, and Finn will be available via SMS, iMessage, WhatsApp, or RCS — whichever you prefer. Everything you can ask Finn in-app works over text too.
Finn can also send you proactive updates via text:
- Daily, weekly, or monthly spending summaries
- Goal progress updates
- Budget and spending limit alerts
- Low balance notifications
Your full conversation history — whether it started in the app or over text — is always available in the Finn chat inside the app, with thread labels so you can see which messages came via SMS.
Good to know
Texting is a bonus channel — the app is where you get the full experience with charts, dashboards, and all your financial data at a glance. But when you just want a quick answer while you're out, texting Finn has you covered.
