How we connect
Finn connects to your financial institutions through Plaid, the industry-leading bank connection and data aggregation platform. Plaid powers connections for thousands of fintech companies and financial institutions, providing secure, reliable access to your financial data.
Plaid
Plaid is the trusted open finance platform that powers Finn's account connections. Plaid connects to over 12,000 financial institutions across the US and Canada, giving you broad coverage and reliable, up-to-date data.
When you connect an account, Finn uses the Plaid Link SDK to open a secure connection flow directly within the app. You authenticate with your bank through Plaid's interface — your credentials never touch Finn's servers. Plaid uses tokenized access (Link tokens) so that only secure, short-lived tokens are exchanged between your bank, Plaid, and Finn.
Plaid is widely used by major fintech companies and is trusted by millions of consumers to safely connect their financial accounts. It supports transaction syncing, investment holdings, liabilities, and more — all through read-only access.
